Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
A wedding is a very important event for a couple, their families and the parish community. In the Sacrament of Matrimony the engaged couple declare and seal their love publicly and permanently in the presence of their family, friends, and the parish community of believers. The final preparation for marriage is a time of spiritual growth individually and together with God. We would enjoy assisting you in the preparation of this sacrament.
Please contact the parish office at 319-334-7191 and ask to speak to Fr. David Beckman to discuss and schedule your wedding date. He will make an initial interview appointment to discuss the preparation procedures with you. He will also give you a pamphlet and checklist of things to do prior to your wedding. Congratulations on your engagement and we hope we can celebrate, through this sacrament, your wedding day with you.
