Grades 1 – 6thClasses meet from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. In grade-based classrooms, Catechists help the children reflect on their lives in light of the Gospel. Using the curriculum, Blest Are We, there are six standard themes – one in each grade level – and the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church are incorporated into the unit structure at each grade level. Scripture, the foundation of every chapter, leads to a presentation of Catholic doctrine – statements of belief, worship, morality and prayer. In addition, inspiring stories are included to bring Saints and other important Catholic figures to life.
Grade 2 Students will prepare for and receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist during this school year.
Grades 7 – 10 Classes meet from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Grades 7 & 8 use the Blest Are We curriculum.
Grade 9 uses the curriculum Morality: A Course on Catholic Living. This curriculum teaches teens the moral skills to handle social and sexual pressure, recognize and respond to others in need, maintain healthy relationships, obtain second chances, handle violence, analyze society's values, and distinguish between right and wrong.
Grade 10 In preparation for Confirmation in grade 10, the curriculum used is Matthew Kelly’s DECISION POINT. This program was specifically developed to engage young Catholics in a meaningful conversation about the genius of Catholicism. It teaches and inspires teens to respond to God’s grace. DECISION POINT is specifically designed to speak into the everyday lives of young Catholics and to teach them why choosing Jesus and the Church matters.
